YOUTH ENVIRONMENTAL AMBASSADORS (YEA) PROGRAM

We are now accepting applications for the 2020 cohort of student participants for our YEA Program.

SALT PROGRAM WITH SWIMTAYKA

The program is a high touch, hands-on, youth education module to teach basic swimming skills, water safety, principles of environmental education, and tools for water stewardship.

We will be back summer 2020 with more opportunities for swimming and ocean survival lessons.

CANAL CLEAN SWEEP

Canal clean sweep is one of the services that we conduct frequently to maintain the canals and get rid of debris or trash that ends up in the canal, or that blocks any passage way through the canals in Grand Bahama Island.

BEACH PROFILING

We frequently assess several beach profiles on Grand Bahamas, which is a part our an ongoing study to monitor our shorelines over a period of time to see how our beaches are being affected by catastrophic storms that take place during hurricane season each year.

WKB CADET PROGRAM

Our Waterkeepers Cadets Program is for senior high school students that want to continue on their environmental leadership skills about the environment before they leave high school. These student Cadets are usually past members of our YEA program and are highly recommended to participate in this program.

SWIM GUIDE

Monitoring the water quality of our watersheds; to ensure swimmable, fishable, drinkable water for all. We are testing over 20 beaches bi-weekly on  Grand Bahama, Bimini and New Providence for basic water quality parameters.
