    Unregulated Development
    The term unregulated development refers to any construction work that impacts or alters the physical landscape, which has either been undertaken in the absence of the necessary permits and approvals under the law, or which gained those permits and approvals in an improper manner.

    Government Transparency
    Secret deals between government and developers lead directly to environmental destruction in the Bahamas. 

     


    Environmental Protection Laws
    From its inception in 2013, the passage of an Environmental Protection Act for the Bahamas has been one of the key objectives of Save The Bays.

     


    Oil Pollution
    Beginning with our fight to end the decades of oil pollution from the state-run power plant at Clifton Bay, Save The Bays has made fighting oil pollution throughout the Bahamas a top priority.

    Sustainable Fisheries 
    The marine resources of the Bahamas are threatened by a number of challenges.

    There are several Marine Protected Areas in the Bahamas, which are managed by a the public-private partnership, the Bahamas National Trust.
